Janis has been getting back into the routine of being home and getting some knitting done with the hubby is busy at work. Ann went to her son’s 8th grade Celebration of Excellence ceremony, had his birthday, hung out with an almost 2 year old.
♦ Stitch by stitch
Ann- Worked on the leg of the sock at son’s Celebration of Excellence. Going with plain vanilla for these and it is looking good! Got about 4 inches done. These will be an afterthought heel — Worked on these while recording and got another 2 inches done!!
- Yarn: Sockotta 45/40/15 – Cotton/SW Wool/Nylon
- Color – 6670 It is a self striping with confetti spots of orange, yellow, hot pink and red.
- Needles: Chiao Goo 9” Circulars
- Size: US 1
- Tillybuddy’s very stretchy Cast-on
Janis- Fire and Ice Surfer– Stitch Surfer by Louise Robert
- Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight
- Color: Fire on the Mountain & Bella Coola
- Needles: 6” Karbonz DPN’s
- Size: US 1
I got my new Karbonz needles and did just a few rounds. I’m not sure how tall to make them.
Ann – the1sleeved inspired by CFF – the1sleeved by Vithard Villumsen
- Yarn/ Colors: Copper Corgi – Caribbean Swim (light aqua)
- Copper Corgi – Saxon Blue (denim blue)
- The Fleece Artist Trail Sock – Blush (hot pink)

Knit the rest of the blue wedge I was on, 2 ridges and another blue wedge. Ready to start a green wedge!!

I finished the second sleeve and starting working down the body

Decided to try 7s – decided I liked it. This will give me extra room in the sweater that I will need for sizing…working out well so far. We’ll see! (ripped out other sleeve that had been done on 6s)

Two sleeves, DONE. Two fronts, DONE. The back…. started – about 3 inches into it.
♦ Round and Round
miniSpinner – LBW (light brown wool) – Finished the LBW singles
spindles – I did not spin on my Nunoco batt this week.
I plied the finn and LBW together – I apparently spun the brown wool a little thinner because I ran out of the Finn before the LBW. I 2 plied them all. Those are some FULL bobbins! Have not washed and/or measured yet. Hope to do that this week.

Ann – Decided to switch to the 7s on my Hana Hou Hou so I frogged the first sleeve that I did on 6s
Janis- Frogged the Mini Sock Monkey penis. Now I need to start on a new project for this baby

Camp Aloha Friends– Email us your “essay” — It does not have to be a long one, we just want you to go to Mel’s site and look at all Camp Aloha Friends has to offer. If you are up for it, then email us your thoughts on the camp and why you would like to “go.” We will announce the scholarship winner when we record June 11th.

Zuzu’s Petals KAL. Find your gradient and we will be getting started on this before to long.
Knit in public week June 14-22. We will meet in person at the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery on June 14th from 1pm- until. There are free brewery tours at 2, 3, and 4pm. If it’s nice we will be in the Beirgarten or on the patio. It’s it too warm or raining we will be inside the Brauhaus. Olde Mecklenburg is located at 215 Southside Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217. For the virtual meetup simply take a picture of you and your knitting out in the wild and post it to instagram or twitter using #WWKIP and #CarolinaFiberGirls. We have prizes for both the live meetup and the virtual one. So enter as many times as you would like.
